A CASED 48-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'LONGSPUR', serial no. 1173,
circa 1853, with blued octagonal 6 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'CREW, TETBURY', engraved band at muzzle, dove-tailed fore-sight, borderline and scroll engraved open iron frame, plain five-shot cylinder, engraved hammer with sighting notch to nose and distinctive chequered long spur cocking piece, swept chequered walnut grips with provision for a lanyard ring at heel (ring missing), side mounted rammer, some re-finishing to frame, some shallow pitting present, complete with a period mahogany storage case compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a full complement of accessories including a flask, mould, nipple-key, turn-screw, oil-bottle and cleaning rod together with caps, lubricating compound and loose bullets
